Fundraising towards Dementia and Alzheimer’s Charities is something that is very close to our hearts here at Vita Cura.
A much loved member of our own family suffered from both stroke induced dementia and Alzheimer’s. Our family like to come together in her memory to raise money towards related charities.
Recently, due to Covid restrictions we have been unable to meet up. Instead 18 family members individually completed the Jog 50 Miles in November Challenge for Dementia UK. Our ages ranged from a few months to 70 years old. We are very proud that even though the youngest were pushed and the oldest walked, we all completed the 50 miles.
As a family we raised over £700 and the overall total raised for Dementia UK was over £1,000,000.
Dementia UK is a charity committed to improving the quality of life for those affected by dementia. Their Admiral Nurses specialise in Dementia care and the support of sufferers and their families.
The impact of COVID has been enormous for us all but for those living with dementia it has been devastating. There has never been a time when extra support and care is needed more. Help which the wonderful Admiral Nurses can provide.
