Connor Eden
Managing Director
I am one of the managing directors here at Vita Cura. It is my job to make sure standards of care and customer service are of the highest caliber.
When I was a young adult I witnessed firsthand the stress and distress felt by a family when a loved one’s health begins to deteriorate. Having had a background in financial recruitment, I started supporting large Care Companies with their recruitment policies and procedures. I soon began to specialise more and more in the Live-In Care sector, becoming a consultant for Directors and CEOs and helping with the growth and standards of their businesses.
Throughout this time, I always wanted to make sure that the levels of care clients received were always at the highest standard. Unfortunately, what I call revolving care, can fall below the quality I would expect, mainly due to the nature of how these systems work. With Domiciliary Care, Carers have allotted time slots for each client and this leads, through no individual fault, to carers rushing with clients who actually need more time with their carers. This is something I wanted to change. My family’s experience had left me with the desire to help others have the opportunity to access the wonderful care we arranged for our loved ones. It is the memory of how fortunate we were that gave me the hunger and desire to try to make it an option for everyone.
Grace is someone I have worked closely with for many years now, we spoke so much about this passion we shared. We both wanted to give families another option, an option where quality matters and can be comparable, if not cheaper, than other routes of caring for loved ones.
Family is very important to me. I have an amazing partner and a beautifully cheeky son who lights up my life every day and seems to grow older every time I look at him. I have a sister who runs a rehabilitation center based in Southern Spain and a gorgeous nephew. I very much enjoy spending time with them both and the lovely Spanish weather is always fantastic too! I have always been into sports and when I have time, I love to get involved in all types of activities. I particularly enjoy playing for my local football team, golf, badminton, and snowboarding. It’s a fantastic way to relax as well as a way of keeping fit!
The reason Grace and I wanted to start Vita Cura has become something of a mantra to us and I believe it makes our company distinct from bigger corporate operations. At Vita Cura, we are all family members who have been touched by supporting love ones in their time of need. Our mantra is “unless you have lived through it yourself, you cannot truly understand”. We bring our understanding, warmth, and compassion into our work.
Grace, I and my family share the same passions: We want families to have a genuine choice in the way they support a loved one and be able to have 1-1 personalised care as an option. We want to help support families who, like ours in the past, are going through a very difficult time. Our work within this field, combined with our own personal past experiences gives us the tools to help families, to provide them with the comfort, support, and above all care of the highest quality.
